Question: Is it possible for a teen to be a victim of ovarian cancer?

( Back )

Answer #1:

She needs to see a gynecologist. There is a chance that she might have ovarian cancer or another problem. It is quite possible for a teenager to be affected even though it is more often older women. I know a girl who got ovarian cancer in high school. Don't be scared, it is treatable and often curable. She can ask to see a gynecologist without having to tell her mother that she is sexually active with you, she can just say that her cramps are bad and she wanted to make sure she doesn't have a cyst. As her boyfriend, just continue to support her and be there for her regardless of what happens. You can get through this. Good luck to both of you.
